I also found the following on wikipedia: "Four gargoyles were placed on the corners of the Clock Tower in 1899, but they were removed to the effects of the weather on the sandstone carvings in 1938. In 2002, bronze casts of the gargoyles were reinstalled. The replicas are not duplicates as the original designs were lost."<br />I have a 1945 photo (and a current one) with some more notes at: http://iantotman.blogspot.ca/2015/01/old-and-new-toronto-bay-by-old-city-hall.htmlIan Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12830131064958281161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7316604154163888979.post-81527430488582697152015-02-19T10:29:32.226-05:002015-02-19T10:29:32.226-05:00In many homes and businesses today more and more o...In many homes and businesses today more and more owners are looking to put their own stamp on the interior so their space is uniquely theirs. This can include many things, including the type of paint and wall surface used, the furniture and accessories used throughout the place and things like flooring and window treatments. Something many people have also begun to take a look at it is having a unique style where the staircase and railings are concerned. <br /><a href="http://www.royaloakstair.ca/" rel="nofollow">Wood Stairs Toronto</a>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7316604154163888979.post-86845245739336048302014-02-10T21:28:18.114-05:002014-02-10T21:28:18.114-05:00Thank you for sharing this all-but-forgotten histo...
